While more spacious than the generation it replaces, the Acty HA7 boasts a more powerful fuel-injected engine than its carbureted predecessor, making it generally easier to maintain. It's also safer with its front end, which reduces the impact zone, and the driver's airbag.
The cab's finish is much improved with less cardboard and more modern plastics.
Despite its off-road capabilities, the Acty remains an excellent Kei truck on pavement, thanks to its rear engine, which makes the cab quieter. It drives almost like a Civic.
